In February 2025, the Kamuthe community held a two-day validation workshop to review the Kamuthe Wildlife Conservancy Management Plan.

The workshop was made possible thanks to input from a diverse range of stakeholders, including Kamuthe Community Wildlife Conservancy, with technical assistance from the Kenya Wildlife Service and funding from FAO Kenya.

Section 44 of the Wildlife Conservation and Management Act (2013) requires that all wildlife protected areas be managed based on an approved management plan developed through a participatory process.

With the ten-year plan successfully validated, Kamuthe now commences the next phase of the process: the official gazettement, which will be followed by the launch and implementation of the plan.

The plan will guide conservation efforts, ensure sustainable resource management, and empower the Kamuthe community for the future.
