The Kamuthe Community Land Management Committee (CLMC) marked the end of the year 2024 with a monumental milestone: launching the Kamuthe Community Land Use Plan (2024-2034).

The plan was developed through a participatory planning process steered by the CLMC and made possible through the support and contribution of several partner organizations, including the Garissa County Government, Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association (KWCA) and USAID.

It aims at providing a roadmap to improve the socio-economic standards of the local community in Kamuthe whilst conserving the wildlife and natural resources of the region.

The training was financially supported by Save Giraffes Now, with technical support from Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Kenya Wildlife Conservancies Association (KWCA) and The Nature Conservancy.

“The Kamuthe Community Land Use Plan is A practical guide for the betterment of the community and natural resources in Kamuthe for future generations. – Khalif Sheikh Mohamud, CEO, Kamuthe Community Wildlife Conservancy
